Pseudo-random tone burst modulation for active remote sensing of gases using diode lasers

Abstract

Applying bursts of wavelength modulation to a diode laser in a pseudo-random pattern measures the spectrally narrow, wavelength dependent part of the power absorption that can be used to compute range-resolved trace gas concentrations.
