Abstract

Knowing atmospheric 13CO2/12CO2 ratios precisely is important in understanding biogenic and anthroprogenic sources and sinks for carbon. Currently available field deployable instrumentation has unfavorable attributes such as high power requirements, high cost and large size,. A high-precision isotopic measurement system is being developed that nullifies effects of pressure, temperature and moisture, and has characteristics suitable for field deployment. Early results find a precision of 0.4‰.
