Abstract

Intra-cavity Faraday modulation spectroscopy (INFAMOS) is a novel technique which combines the selectivity of Faraday modulation spectroscopy to paramagnetic (radical) species with the sensitivity enhancement achievable with optical cavities. We describe a QCL-based spectrometer (λ = 5.2 μm) and demonstrate the INFAMOS technique with measurements on nitric oxide isotopes, for which the current sensitivity is below 1 ppbv.
