A Bimodal Fiber Laser for Generation of a Narrow Microwave Tone

Abstract

We present a bimodal laser using a multiple-Bragg-gratings Fabry-Perot filter inside a fiber loop. A single microwave signal with 1 kHz FWHM linewidth is obtained by heterodyne beating the two laser modes at a photodiode.
