Atom Photoionization Using Evanescent Fields: Preparation to Probe Quantum Adsorption States

Abstract

We present an experimental set up to prepare excited atoms near a surface and probe them with an ion detector. Improving this system performance will allow us to look for atom-surface interaction signatures.
