Optical Signal Degradation in a ROADMs-based DWDM Ring Network

Abstract

An investigation of the optical signal degradation in a ROADMs-based DWDM metropolitan optical network is reported. Software implementation of a PLC-ROADM is presented. Crosstalk, spectrum narrowing and OSNR degradation are included in the simulations.
