Abstract

This paper presents an optical fiber ring resonator (OFRR) as temperature sensor for a DFB single mode laser system. The optical circuit was constructed by using a 2×2 (50/50) fiber coupler and 10 cm radius optical fiber ring. A single mode diode laser was launched to the OFRR and experiments at room temperature were carried out; from these it was tested the temperature laser stability. It was found that laser control strategy used for DFB laser systems produces at least a wavelength detuning of 0.25 pm which was perfectly measured by the OFRR system presented in this work.
