Abstract
We report on the use of an optical frequency comb for calibration of spectra from incoherent broadband light sources. We show an initial implementation using an electro-optical frequency comb at 1530 nm to calibrate the spectra of acetylene lines recorded in an optical spectrum analyzer using light from amplified spontaneous emission in an Erbium-doped fiber amplifier. Increased accuracy in frequency calibration can be used for improved sensing of pressure or electrical and magnetic fields.
