Geometry Optimization of Nanopatch Semiconductor Lasers: the Trade-off between Quality Factor and Gain

Abstract

In this work we present a design optimization of the nanopatch semiconductor laser. Geometry parameters are optimized for the best combination of quality factor (photonic lifetime) and stimulated emission (gain).
