Nonlinear Fiber-Optics with Incoherent Sources

Abstract

Nonlinear optical effects driven by incoherent (noise) sources may exhibit advantages relative to similar effects driven by lasers. We review laser-noise interactions in waveguides and discuss applications to supercontinuum generation and high order chromatic dispersion characterization.
