Edge filter enhanced self-mixing interferometry: An approach to access the FM self-mixing signal.

Abstract

We describe a new self-mixing interferometer capable to measure the frequency modulation (FM) signal. The FM detection, obtained from the edge filtering technique, yields about two orders of magnitude larger SNR than conventional self-mixing interferometry.
