Nonlocal effective dielectric response of photonic superlattices

Abstract

A homogenization theory for calculating the components of the nonlocal effective permittivity tensor for metal-dielectric superlattices is proposed. The nonlocal theory permits to recover the photonic dispersion relation within the whole first Brillouin zone.
