Ratiometric temperature sensor based on a multicore optical fiber

Abstract

A temperature sensor consisting of two three-core-fiber segments is demonstrated. Ratiometric measurements of the signals provide a sensitivity of 0.036/ºC which is two orders of magnitude higher than their individual signals.
