Abstract

We propose and analyze a sensor based on cladded metamaterial waveguides for monitoring gas or liquid specimens. These structures are made of metal and dielectric thin layers claddings, surrounding the hollow core of the sensor. The sensor sensitivity to the optical response of the samples in the core was obtained to every architecture simulated.
