Centralized optical true time delay beamforming at 60 GHz with multicore fiber distribution

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a hybrid millimeter wave/photonic system with beamforming capabilities at 60 GHz. The true time delay configuration is remotely set in the optical domain and it is maintained by using a 7-core fiber with sub-picosecond accuracy.
