Fiber optic temperature sensors with polymer-based fluorescent materials

Abstract

Optical fiber sensors based on the fluorescence emission of rare-earth active ions mixed with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) are demonstrated. The sensors use off-the shelf materials and are easy to fabricate, showing good performance and excellent linearity.
