Interferometric Fiber Optic Accelerometer with Nonlinear Control

Abstract

A fiber optic accelerometer based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with variable structure and sliding modes nonlinear control was constructed and characterized, obtaining estimations of its sensitivity, minimum detectable acceleration, and dynamic range.
