Amplitude Matters: the Role of Losses on Photonic Resonant Sensors

Abstract

We developed an analytical model to estimate the impacts of optical losses on the performance of photonic resonant sensors. We find that the resonance amplitude plays a significant, albeit underestimated, role on the performance.
