Laser Spark Ignition of LOX/LCH4 Propellant on an Optically-Accessible Combustor

Abstract

We present laser spark ignition of LOX/LCH4 propellant on an optically-accessible combustor with triplet impinging injectors. The ignition energy and ignition delay time were determined as 67-74 mJ and less than 667 μs for total propellant mass flow rate of 18-59 g/s.
