Abstract

A surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) is a key device that extends new applications of semiconductor lasers. Increase of the output power of VCSELs have been studied depending on the respective purposes, such as beam characteristics and the array configuration. The current state and related technologies to increase the output power will be reviewed in this presentation.
