Abstract

The minimum laser pulse energy for ignition is determined and compared for two injection concepts and ignition locations for CH4/O2 and H2/O2 in a subscale rocket engine combustion chamber. A numerical scheme for the laser energy transfer into gaseous, inhomogeneous mixtures of propellants is formulated and first results are shown.
