Use of Variable Pulsewidth, Variable Pulse Duration Dye Laser in Treatment of Vascular Lesions

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We examined variable pulse duration and wavelength lasers at 532 nm and pulse durations between 2 ms and 10 ms and lasers with adjustable wavelengths at 585 nm, 590 nm, 595 nm and 600 nm with pulse durations of 450 μsec and 1500 μsec. Treatment of recalcitrant vascular lesions such as unresponsive port wine stains and lesions such as lower extremity telangiectasias have shown a favorable clinical response to these lasers. Long-term studies are underway to determine optimal pulse duration, wavelength and number of treatments with these lasers.
