Abstract
Skin is a major target for the chemical warface agent sulfur mustard (bis-2-chloroethyl sulfide; HD). Delayed wound healing is seen with HD-induced cutaneous lesions, and was the initial stimulus for our study using a pulsed CO2 laser to potentiate wound healing. Another factor we wanted to determine was what factors present within dermis and/or stromal cell populations therein could account for the tightening of skin seen after pulsed CO2 laser debridement.2-7
