Quantum Measurements in Gravitational-Wave Detectors

Abstract

Laser interferometric gravitational-wave detectors measure tiny motions of macroscopic test masses. Complex interferometer configurations and quantum optical techniques will be used to enhance sensitivity in future interferometers, which will reach and surpass the Standard Quantum Limit.
