Abstract

This talk will describe the state of the art in laser interferometers for gravitational wave detection. These instruments are being designed to have CW circulating power levels of ~1 Megawatt and sense the mirror motions at the 10−20 meters/√Hz level. The U.S. LIGO [5] project will detailed.
