Inter-Satellite Laser Mapping of the Gravitational Field of the Earth

Abstract

Mapping of changes in the Earth’s gravity field from space can be improved by using laser ranging between two spacecraft. An interferometric laser ranging system that has been partially developed and tested will be described.
