OAM Induced BEC vortices – Detection and Applications

Abstract

We present an overview of theoretical work on atomic vortices created using OAM states. Gyroscopes are an important application of atomic vortex superposition. We use nondestructive detection schemes to compare with sensitivity of current gyroscopes.
