Superadditive Optical Communications with Joint Detection Receivers and Concatenated Coding

Abstract

We present an optical communication receiver system concept able to achieve super-additive capacities. We present the first concatenated coding strategies compatible with our recently proposed joint-detection receivers, which increase capacity through jointly measuring blocks of modulation symbols.
