Abstract

We studied the attosecond control and tracing of collective electron dynamics in nanosystems. The control is experimentally realized by carrier-envelope phase stable few-cycle optical pulses and implemented on SiO2 nanoparticles. We theoretically explored the possibility to probe the electron dynamics in real-time by attosecond streaking spectroscopy and find a strong dependence of the streaking process on the spatial properties of the near-field and the laser parameters ranging from the instantaneous electric field probing to the ponderomotive regime.
