Characterization and Optimization of External Cavity Continuous-wave Diamond Raman Lasers

Abstract

We present an optimization study of a 15 W continuous wave diamond Raman laser. Modeling is used to identify key parameters influencing generation threshold, slope and efficiency. The effects of the diamond’s as-grown birefringence are considered and methods for compensation are discussed.
