Femtojoule-per-bit Optical Communication in a Photonic Crystal Chip

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We show our recent studies of photonic-crystal nanocavity devices that exhibit record-low consumption energy/power. We discuss possibilities of their large-scale integration and how they are promising for putting fJ/bit-level optical communication in a processor chip. Article not available.
