Transparent Perfect Mirror via Non-Hermitian Systems

Abstract

We have experimentally demonstrated an optical device that provides 100% broadband reflection, yet transmits light. The device is a sub-lasing active cavity in which the resonances in reflection disappear at a critical gain threshold.
