Self-healing optical beams with snake-like and spiral paths in free space

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a class of non-diffracting beams, known as Frozen Waves, whose central spot can be made to follow an arbitrary off-axis curved path, at-will. These beams can be widely utilized in material processing and optical trapping applications.
