Abstract

By placing a dispersion-engineered, slow-light, photonic-crystal waveguide in one arm of a fiber-based Mach–Zehnder (MZ) interferometer, we experimentally demonstrate that structural slow light can be used to enhance the spectral sensitivity of the interferometer.
