Measurement of Kerr Coefficient in Large Bandgap Solids at Mid-IR Wavelengths

Abstract

We measure the Kerr coefficients for widely used solids in mid-IR applications. To our knowledge, this is the first direct absolute measurement for pump wavelengths longer than 800 nm. We observed insignificant dispersion in the measured n2 values.
