Extremely Compact and Broadband Polarization Beam Splitter Enabled by Customized Port Angles

Abstract

We demonstrate a compact yet fabrication tolerant polarization beam splitter. Customized angles at each port facilitate a broadband response over 100 nm, including 3 dB insertion loss and 11.2 dB extinction ratio in the C-band.
