An optical frequency atomic clock based on quantum matter

Abstract

We present the first atomic clock based on quantum degenerate matter, overcoming atomic collisions, reaching a record spectroscopic quality factor of Q = 5.2 1015, and measuring a frequency difference to 3 ⨉ 10-19 in 2 hours.
