Bloch-Floquet Waves in Optical Ring Resonators

Using Bloch-Floquet theory, we develop a theory of the modal coupling of degenerate resonances in optical ring resonators. This theory allows us to engineer, in a mode-by-mode basis, the splitting in fabricated silicon nitride rings.
