Impact of strain on a long-period grating based coupling device

Abstract

We developed a long-period grating based single-mode fiber to single-mode fiber coupler. By applying strain to the fibers, the power transfer at 1476 nm and 1552 nm increased 6 dB and 8 dB, respectively.
