Polarization Study of Engineered Scattering Elements in Photonic Integrated Circuits

Abstract

We modeled engineered scattering elements in a photonic integrated circuit for polarization characterization of waveguides. Results demonstrate a viable method to distinguish linearly polarized orthogonal modes in the waveguide with three different design variations.
