Exponentially-wide étendue displays using a tilting cascade

Abstract

Holographic displays based on spatial light modulators, suffer from limited étendue. We suggest introducing tiltable pixels for increased étendue. We built a prototype constructed of multiple binary tilt layers and demonstrate applications of the device.
