Control of Self-Similar Droplets of Light in Tapered Graded-Index Waveguide

Abstract

We investigate the existence and manipulation of self-bound states in a 1-D photon-fluid confined in an inhomogeneous-nonlinear waveguide. Such droplet states are stabilized by the balance of repulsive cubic-nonlinearity and net attractive dispersion and quadratic-nonlinearity.
