Isolation of Thermal/Electro-Optic Modulation Effects in Silicon Photonic Modulators

Abstract

We demonstrate a technique for decoupling thermal and electro-optic refractive index modulating effects in an on-chip traveling wave P-N depletion-based Mach-Zehnder modulator. Such a technique enables enhanced design validation for silicon photonic modulators.
