New Scientific Opportunities with Ultrafast X-rays

Abstract

Femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy is routinely used to interrogate valence electronic and vibrational dynamics. The development of ultrafast X-ray facilities provides opportunities to extend pump-probe spectroscopy to the X-ray regime to probe core-valence electronic interactions.
