Pulsed Yb Fiber Laser for Underwater Communications

Abstract

We propose using an array of high efficiency, frequency-doubled, pulsed Yb fiber lasers for underwater communications. A 1036.7nm pulsed Yb laser producing over 1mJ of energy in a 30μm core fiber is demonstrated.
