Application of radar technology to underwater detection, ranging and imaging

Abstract

Optical detection, ranging, and imaging systems are degraded in murky water due to the collection of scattered light. An approach which enhances detection sensitivity by encoding the optical signal with a radar subcarrier will be discussed and experimental results will be presented.
