Small Satellite Platforms for Lasercom and LIDAR Demonstrations and Applications

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Small inexpensive satellite platforms offer opportunities for pathfinder experiments, space qualification of components, and enhancement of larger assets. Upcoming CubeSat experiments are slated to demonstrate > 100 Mbps optical communications from LEO-to-ground and single-photon counting HgCdTe detector technology.
