SBS threshold suppression in Er-doped fiber amplifier by using fibers with different core composition

Abstract

Two Er-doped fibers with different core compositions and similar waveguiding properties were used to demonstrate an increase in SBS threshold to 1.8 kW, which is 2.5 dB higher compared to single-fiber amplifier.
