Solar light directly pumped Nd:YAG laser and the potential applications in the field of clean energy

Abstract

A compact solar light directly pumped Nd:YAG laser is presented. Lasing power of 18 W is obtained when the input solar power is 728W. Measures to improve the overall efficiency and the applications in renewable energy cycles are discussed.
