Highly dispersive transparency in planar Terahertz metamaterials

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate at terahertz frequencies that two planar metamaterials exhibit a spectral response resembling electromagnetically induced transparency and strong normal phase dispersion at the transparent window by the coupling between bright and quasi-dark eigenmodes.
